Choir School of East Texas is supported in part by Christ Church, Episcopal of Tyler. All other support comes from grants and gifts from the community at large. Your generous support is very much appreciated. To make a tax-deductible contribution, please contact the Executive Director, Mrs. Diana Keesey, via email email@example.com or at (903) 597-9854.
Gifts may be made for the Choir School in general or a designated gift may be given for a particular area of our program. Some of the specific areas are as follows:
Keyboards – Choristers who do not have a piano in their home receive an electronic keyboard for practicing their piano lessons.
Travel – Choristers travel short and long distances for performance, musical education and recreation. We have traveled to Boston for performances, St. Louis to attend the Royal School of Church Music Vocal Training Course, Brenham for performance, and Shreveport and Kilgore for choir camps. In 2016, some of our older choristers will be participating in a Choir Tour to England and Scotland with Tyler Civic Choral, Christ Church Chancel Choir and First Presbyterian Chancel Choir.
Scholarships for Higher Education – Choristers who actively participate in our program for six years and meet requirements established by our board are eligible for scholarships for higher education. This is not a one-time gift but support that continues through their college career. Three of our graduating seniors have received scholarships to date.
Feel free to ask for detailed information in any of these areas or for other ideas.
